Tecnopackaging is a technology-based Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) founded in 2010 as a spin-off of AITIIP Technology Centre located in Zaragoza, involved in the development of innovative plastic materials and products. We count with the skills, technologies and experience for providing customers a comprehensive design of new products, from concept to prototype, validation and development of the first series. Tecnopackaging´s main purpose is to conduct R&D on advanced polymeric materials and their transformation processes for industrial plastic applications, targeting companies which operate directly or indirectly in the agri-food and other industrial sectors such as automotive, construction, biomedical and aeronautical. Tecnopackaging is working in the TERRIFIC Project as leader of WP5: Demonstration of the end-of-life scenarios and circularity of the value chain; developing their activities for the validation of the coffee capsules and on the formulation and validation of the recycled blends. BIOEAST HUB CR is the only fully operating national bioeconomy BIOEAST HUB in the Central and Eastern EU established in line with the BIOEAST Governance paper and with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture. Mater-Biotech is an Italian company based in Adria (RO, Veneto Region), 100% owned by Novamont. Mater-Biotech represents the world’s first dedicated industrial plant to produce bio-butanediol (1,4 BDO) directly from sugars. The plant covers an area of 200,000 sq.m., it has a productive capacity of 30.000 ton/year and is conceived to reuse by-products for its own energy purpose, optimizing the whole life-cycle process. Mater-Biotech hosts a high-efficiency cogeneration plant and a biodigester to degrade by-products and convert them into an energy source, specifically biogas, which is subsequently certified as “advanced” biomethane, " because it is produced with low emissions of greenhouse gases and fed into the grid. In addition to the project partners, TERRIFIC sees the direct involvement of the “Multi-actor Interest Group” (MIG): key stakeholders representing all the actors along the entire value chain (feedstock suppliers, technology providers, packaging producers and end users, brand owners, waste management operators, scientific institutions, bioplastic and packaging associations, representatives of the civil society etc.) that will play a relevant role in defining a replication and exploitation roadmap and deployment strategy of the TERRIFIC entire value chain and of the flagship sustainable packaging solutions developed within the project.
