Cookie Policy
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to the User’s device (PC, smartphone, tablet…) when visiting a website. On each subsequent visit, cookies are sent back to the website that originated them (first-party cookies) or to another site that recognizes them (third-party cookies). Cookies allow a website to recognize a user’s device. They have various purposes such as, for example, allowing you to navigate efficiently between pages, remembering your favorite sites and, in general, improving the user’s browsing experience. They also help to ensure that the advertising content displayed online is more targeted to the user and in line with their interests (so-called targeting cookies, profiling cookies or marketing cookies). Cookies can have a duration limited to a single browsing session and, in this case, they are automatically deactivated when the browser is closed; or they may have a predetermined expiration, in which case they will remain stored and active on the user’s device until such expiration, continuing to collect information during different browsing sessions on the browser. There are also other information collection technologies for similar purposes as cookies that are stored on your device (such as pixels). In this policy, we use the term cookies in relation to cookies, as described above, and in relation to any other collection technologies, with the aim of providing you with a guide to understanding what cookies and other similar technologies are, how and why they are used, what rights you have and what choices you can make regarding their use.
Cookies and similar technologies – definitions
Cookies: small text files (generally consisting of letters and numbers) that the websites (so-called “first party”) visited by the user or the different websites or web servers (so-called “third parties”) place and store within the browser used by the user for navigation on any terminal device capable of storing information.
Other Technologies: Technologies that store data in your browser or device using local shared objects or local storage, such as flash cookies, HTML 5 cookies, and other web application software methods. These technologies work in all browsers. In some cases, the use of local storage cannot be fully managed by browsers but requires management through specific tools.
Categories of cookies
Cookies can be distinguished according to their purpose, duration and who owns the cookie.
-Cookies distinguished by purpose are those cookies that can be installed on the user’s device to:
- to ensure the operation of the site and services, as well as to guarantee the user to be able to use their functions, so-called “technical cookies”.
- to improve the performance of the site and Spring services while browsing the Terrific Project site, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of a service offered through the site, so-called “analytical cookies”
- allow Spring and/or third parties to target targeted advertising or in line with the User’s interests, subject to consent, so-called ” profiling cookies”
-Cookies that are distinguished according to duration are those cookies that can remain in the browser of the device for the duration of a session (i.e. until you close the browser used to browse the site or stop using a service) and are called session cookies. Or, they may remain stored in your device’s browser for long periods and may contain a unique identifier and are called persistent cookies.
– Cookies can also be distinguished according to the entity that owns the cookie (first-party cookies and third-party cookies).
Cookies may be the property of the site manager and the service itself and, therefore, are installed by the latter in the browser of the user’s device, so-called cookies. First-party cookies. It may happen that a site contains cookies, coming from other sites, owned by third parties, contained in various elements hosted on the site itself (for example, advertising banners, images, videos, sounds…) and in this case they are so-called “third-party cookies”.
